Please ensure you read these Terms and Conditions very carefully before booking your course, service or ordering products. Once a booking or order has been made and accepted by London Academy of Beauty Ltd this is a legally binding contract with us and the Terms & Conditions stated below, are deemed as being accepted by you.
The meaning of some words used in these terms and conditions are defined below.
‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ is a reference to London Academy of Beauty Ltd (also referred to as London Academy of Beauty) of Chocolate Factory, 5 Clarendon Road, London N22 6XJ (company registration number: 09561114).
‘You’ or ‘your’ is a reference to the person to whom we are providing our Services and who is required to pay for the Services we provide; (eg learners/students/customers).
‘Course’ and ‘Courses’ means the course or courses provided by us to you as part of the Services.
‘Services’ means the nail and beauty courses, spa services and any ancillary materials that we provide to you or that you purchase in relation to your course or spa service.
‘Product’ or ‘Products’ or ‘Goods’ means any additional products, goods or materials you purchase from us.
Health & Safety
London Academy of Beauty is committed to ensuring all its students and staff work in a safe and healthy environment, fully supported by safe working practices and adherence to all relevant legislation, best practices and industry regulations. We reserve the right to amend and update our procedures outlined below as deemed necessary in pursuant to this.
All students must behave appropriately. Abuse or anti-social behaviour towards staff or other students will not be tolerated.
Students will be shown and supervised whilst using the equipment. All equipment and materials used are the property of the London Academy of Beauty. Any theft, wilful damage to or improper use of equipment will be charged for or in the case of theft, reported for criminal action to be taken.
All students are required to dress in appropriate and comfortable clothing.
Sensible closed toes shoes must be worn
No jewellery to be worn except for a wedding band
Hair must be tied back and away from the face
No smoking is permitted anywhere within the building
Mobile phones must be switched off in the training room; or left on silent at the sole discretion of the course tutor.
No children or other visitors are allowed on the premises.
Permission must be obtained for any models at least 7 working days prior to the course commencement, and they must only be on-site for the duration of designated practical sessions.
If you are pregnant speak to an advisor before booking, as some courses may be unsuitable and refunds may not be given in these circumstances. We do not generally recommend attendance prior to 12 weeks or after 32 weeks gestation.
A signed disclaimer must be signed by you if you choose to attend any course whilst pregnant
You must inform us of any contra-indications or special requirements at the time of booking. If any new issues arise after your booking has been confirmed, you must notify us immediately before/during the course. Refunds will not be awarded but reasonable efforts, as determined by us, will be made to allow you to undertake your course.
Acceptance on our courses includes the requirement for students to work on each other (unless otherwise stated).
If you require us to provide a model, this must be requested and paid for (additional charge) when booking the course. If you intend to bring a model, you must notify us of this at least 5 working days before the course commencement date.
The following is a prerequisite (for yourself or your model) for attendance on our practical courses, where others will be working on you:
Nail courses – nails must be short and natural with no nail varnish.
Eyelash/Eyebrow extension courses – any existing extensions must be removed.
Waxing or threading courses – sufficient body hair must be grown to enable others to work on you.
If you are unable to meet these requirements you must notify us of this at least 7 working days before the course commencement date, as you will be required to bring your own model. If you fail to meet these requirements, a model may be provided at our discretion, and at an additional fee, for which you will be required to pay the full costs. Or you will be removed from the course and any payment made will be non-refundable.
Failure to adhere to these terms and conditions may result in you being expelled from the course. Any fees you have paid to us will be lost and any outstanding fees will continue to be payable.
We reserve the right to make further regulations or changes as and when necessary to ensure the health and safety of our staff and other students or for other reasons as deemed appropriate by us.

If you have any additional support needs, such as a physical disability, learning disability or language need, please state this clearly on your booking form and contact us to discuss any queries you may have. We will also contact you to discuss your specific requirements
Where we are advised of individual needs and these cannot be reasonably met to obtain accredited certifications, this will be made clear prior to the commencement of the course.
All our staff work within the equalities and diversity ethos and provide students with a safe, positive and conducive learning environment, where discrimination, harassment or bullying is not tolerated and is pro-actively challenged.
Our equalities and diversity policy is regularly monitored, reviewed and updated to ensure it is reflective of our drive for continuous improvement and a positive learning experience.
Bookings and Payments
London Academy of Beauty will deal promptly and courteously with all booking requests and process and acknowledge these within 7 working days.
You must be at least 16 years old to attend our courses.
Bookings are processed in order of date of receipt on a first-come basis and no liability will be taken for any delayed postal or other payments.
Completion of the online booking and payment of a non-refundable deposit will reserve your place on your selected course. Places on a course will only be confirmed and guaranteed upon receipt of full payment, by no later than 14 working days before the course start date. Otherwise, the deposit will be lost and non-refundable.
Bookings and any other payments can be made online using debit/credit card, via pay-pal, telephone or BACS/cheque.
Where a payment plan has been agreed upon by us payments must be made as agreed at least 14 working days prior to the course commencement date to reserve and guarantee your place on your chosen course.
Bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable. However in exceptional circumstances and at our sole discretion, the booking may be transferred free of charge, subject to availability and only where this will not adversely affect the original course and at least 14 working days notice has been given, less than 14 days notice will incur a £50 administrative charge. Where any requests to transfer affects the original course, your request will be denied.
Full payment for your course must be made no later than 14 days before the course commencement date and we reserve the right to allocate the place to another student where any balance due has not been paid. Failure to pay will also result in any deposits and outstanding balances already paid being lost.
Payments and deposits/instalments due via payment plans must be received as scheduled prior to the course start date and we reserve the right to allocate the place to another student where any instalment due has not been. Failure to pay will result in any deposit and instalments already paid being lost.
Certificates will not be issued or dispatched until full payment has been received for any courses attended and successfully completed.
Course Confirmation and Attendance
A course confirmation will be issued confirming your place on the course with course joining details.
You must arrive at the training venue at least 10 minutes before the start time as stated on the booking confirmation.
Failure to attend a course or to arrive more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time will result in you not being allowed to enter and complete the day session. This will have to be re-booked or re-scheduled at an additional cost to be paid by you and course completion and certification can not be awarded until such time.
We may, in exceptional circumstances such as serious illness reduce this cost to an administration charge of £50 for a 1-day or £80 for longer courses (plus vat).
Course dates are subject to change or cancellation at any time without any liability to us and where an alternative date cannot be offered a full refund will be given and returned to you within 30 working days.
Course Materials and Resources
Where stated we will provide the material needed to complete your course at the training venue.
Where stated you will be required to bring your own equipment/products with you to your course. Failure to do so may result in you being charged to use or purchase our equipment/products (only if available and not detrimental to the course), or you will not be able to complete the qualification and any payment made or due will be non-refundable and non-transferable.
You will be expected to complete home study and practice in your own time. Materials and equipment will not be provided for this but training kits can be purchased from us prior to or during your course.
Tea and coffee are provided. A wide variety of shops, cafes/restaurants can also be found within the immediate locality of the training centre.
There are no parking facilities at the venue but low-cost parking is available in the Wood Green Shopping City multi-storey car park, which is 5 mins walk from the centre. Only metered parking bays are available outside the centre, with a maximum of two hours stay on most days.
Reviews, Assessments and Examinations
Where a review or assessment meeting is part of your scheduled course, you will need to attend this on the date stated in your course confirmation. Any request to change this date must be made at least 21 working days before the course start date and will incur a £50 (plus vat) admin charge. Where less than 21 working days is given a £75 (plus vat) admin charge will be payable. Failure to attend and successfully complete the review or assessment meeting will result in certification not being issued.
No additional fees will be charged for examinations taken within the course duration.
Certification
All London Academy of Beauty certificates will be issued and dispatched or emailed following successful completion of the course and any review/assessment meetings. Where not issued at the end of the course or as stated, the certificate will be dispatched within 2-8 weeks (dependant on the awarding body).
It is your responsibility to ensure your details are accurately spelt as we will not be held responsible for any errors or omissions on your certificate where these details are incorrect.
Where course fees are being paid in instalments, certificates will only be dispatched once all outstanding payments or pending instalments have been paid in full.
Replacement certificates can be provided at a cost of £30 (plus vat) administration charge.
Cancellations
The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 permits consumers to cancel a contract after it is has been entered into subject to certain limitations and requirements. You will have the right to cancel the contract within 7 working days as long as you do not attend the Course training, at which point you will no longer be able to cancel the contract.
All cancellation requests must be made in writing (via email or post to the address stated) within 7 working days of the date of receipt of booking confirmation.
Upon receipt of your notice of cancellation, we will refund any money you have paid to us within 30 working days.
Privacy Policy & Personal Data
All personal information you provide to us will be kept private and confidential.
From time to time we may use your information to send you details about products or services available from us or our selected partners, that we feel may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive this information or share your personal details in this way please let us know by email or in writing.
Any financial information we collect is used only to bill you for products and services you purchase from us, using our secure server software which encrypts all personal data. It is not the policy of the London Academy of Beauty to loan, sell, or share customer information with anyone.
Your information will only be used for its intended purpose and not disclosed for any other purposes without first obtaining your express or implied consent. The only exception to this is where the disclosure is required or authorised by law or regulation or to prevent illegal activity, serious risk or harm to an individual or public health and safety.
Liability Limitation & Disclaimer
All our courses are delivered professionally to the highest standards and our commitment to you is to provide a professional and exemplary service.
There may be occasions when the course itinerary may need to be changed or aspects of our courses cancelled due to, but not limited to, reasons such as product and treatment developments or examination changes.
Course dates, class numbers and prices are subject to change at any time and we reserve the right to alter our course content or duration as we deem appropriate. No refunds will be granted in these circumstances.
In the event that we deem it necessary to cancel a course, we will provide a full refund which the participant acknowledges as a full and final settlement.
Where any course fees or other charges have been entered on our website incorrectly we reserve the right to make corrections to any affected bookings made or orders placed.
We assume no liability for any act, error, omission, injury, loss, delay, mishap, or damage to persons or property arising from any cause during or following completion of our course or in transit thereto. This includes no liability for any injury, illness or loss of personal property or expenses incurred in relation to our courses; or any financial or other monetary loss to any business activity or profits incurred as a result of any of the above.
By booking a course with us you acknowledge that you accept the terms outlined above and as such release London Academy of Beauty from any liability.
Amendments to the contract terms and conditions
We will have the right to amend the terms and conditions of this contract where we need to do so in order to comply with changes in the law or for regulatory reasons; or we need to correct any errors or omissions (and this right includes the right to change any of the documentation which forms part of the contract), as long such correction is minor and does not materially affect the contract. Where we are making any amendment we will give you as much notice as is possible.
Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 2. For the purposes of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999, this contract is not intended to, and does not, give any person who is not a party to it any right to enforce any of its provisions.
Law and jurisdiction
This contract shall be governed and construed by the law of England and you and we agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Copyright
All course learning materials are the property of the London Academy of Beauty and must not be copied or reproduced in any other form.
Shopping with Us Goods and Products.
We have two product types available for purchase. Please note that these products are not sold on a sale or return basis.
Starter/Training Kits. Our kits are only available to students undertaking supervised training this product is sold on the understanding that they will only be used for their intended purpose for students taught under qualified instruction. London Academy of Beauty will not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage or injury resulting from accidental, improper or unsupervised/untrained use or misuse of our products.
Nail and Beauty products. We offer competitively priced nail varnishes and selected beauty products to both qualified beauty/nail technicians and the general public.
London Academy of Beauty will have no liability to you whatsoever in respect of incorrect storage of the Goods or failure to observe the instructions or recommendations regarding the use of the Products.
Making a Purchase
Purchases can be made online via Paypal, BACS transfer, or in-person (for students).
Full security checks will be carried out to verify that cardholder details are correct and personnel is authorised to use the credit/debit card.
The security of your personal data in ensuring credit card security and credit/debit card fraud prevention is of the utmost importance to us.
Our secure server software encrypts all transaction information including credit/debit card number, name and address, so that your sensitive data cannot be read, used or modified by any third party trying to gain access as the information travels over the Internet. In the event of unauthorised use of your credit/debit card, you should contact your bank immediately.
Dispatch Schedule and Charges
For orders completed by 2 pm Monday-Friday, goods will be dispatched within 5 working days.
In the event of any unexpected delays in dispatching your order, we will notify you of this and agree to a revised dispatch date with you.
Where items are out of stock, this will be clearly stated on your invoice and we will contact you as soon as they are available.
Delivery will only be made to the address on the cardholder’s account or the address stated by the account holder when the order was placed.
If the delivery address is changed after despatch an additional carriage charge will apply.
We will endeavour to deliver your goods as quickly as possible, but a specific delivery date cannot be guaranteed and London Academy of Beauty will not be liable for any failure to deliver within the proposed timescale.
All orders under £30 will be subject to a £5.00 carriage charge. Orders of £30 or more will be delivered free of charge within the UK (excluding Ireland), except where the order exceeds weight limits for which the carriage charge will be agreed.
For students, starter/training kits will incur a £5 carriage charge (or more where the order exceeds weight limits) or can be collected free of charge at the training venue on the day of your course.
Delivery/Receipt of your Goods.
Your goods will be delivered to the cardholder’s address and a signature will be required before the product is released.
It is important that the product is inspected upon delivery as any fault, damage or inaccuracies must be reported to us within 3 working days of delivery as no refunds will be made after this time. This does not affect your statutory rights.
London Academy of Beauty will not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage or injury resulting from accidental, improper or unsupervised/untrained use or misuse of our products. We will have no liability to you whatsoever in respect of incorrect storage of the Goods or failure to observe the instructions or recommendations regarding the use of the Goods.
We reserve the right to terminate, cancel or withdraw any in transit or future delivery where we feel our terms and conditions have been breached. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Returns, Refunds and Exchanges
To return an item (unwanted)
The return/exchange of any unwanted items will be at the sole discretion of the London Academy of Beauty whom has the right to refuse any such requests.
Chemical products cannot be exchanged/refunded (unless faulty/damaged) due to the risk of contamination as we are unable to verify or assure the product/quality following delivery.
Where we agree to accept the return/exchange of goods the following conditions will apply:
The requirements and timescales below must be met for all returns agreed by us:
You notified us within 3 working days of delivery
You returned the goods to us within 7 working days of delivery
The goods are returned to us in their original packaging, unopened, unused and in re-
saleable condition.
We, at our sole discretion, are satisfied that conditions (a) to(c) have been met.
You will pay for the goods to be returned by an appropriate means and will be
responsible for the goods during transit and for ensuring safe delivery to us within
the required timescale.
All returns accepted may be subject to a handling charge of 15% of the price paid plus VAT, which will be payable by you.
If you fail to make any payments due, all further orders or deliveries may be stopped, deferred or cancelled and the order will be treated as terminated.
Remittance Terms Orders will not be processed until payment has been received in full and cleared.
For goods returned that do not meet the above conditions, you will not be entitled to return the goods after delivery and no refund will be considered. Exchanges or credit notes may be agreed upon at our sole discretion, in exceptional circumstances as deemed appropriate and verified by us.
To return an item (damaged, faulty or poor quality) London Academy of Beauty will only accept the return of goods where you are dissatisfied with the quality or the product is faulty/was damaged in transit, where the following conditions have been met:
You notified us within 3 working days of delivery.
You returned the goods to us within 7 working days.
We are satisfied that you have returned the goods to us in their original unused condition
or, where it has been used, no more than necessary has been used to identify the need
to return the goods.
We are satisfied that the goods are of unsatisfactory quality, or are faulty/damaged in
transit.
We will, at our complete discretion, either replace or repair the goods so that they comply with the contract; or where this is not possible you will be issued with a credit note. Electrical bulbs are excluded from any refund or exchange in any circumstance.
For goods returned that do not meet the above conditions, you will not be entitled to return the goods after delivery and no refund/exchange will be considered.
